Green Leaf procurement system
In 2008, Panilkanda Tea introduced Sri Lanka's first online green leaf procurement system. Our collectors use specialized devices to instantly record quantities at collection points, providing farmers immediate receipts while notifying our factory for optimal preparation.
This groundbreaking innovation ensures complete transparency and integrates seamlessly with our mobile app, giving farmers real-time access to their supply data.

Revolutionary Tea Crate Transportation
In 1999, when factories focused on quantity over quality, our founder E.P. Piyasena pioneered specialized tea crates to eliminate green leaf wastage and damage during transport. This expensive but visionary investment ensured only perfect leaves reach our factory.
Since 2009, we've exclusively used tea crates to collect from 18 villages. Our partnership with Phoenix Industries Ltd created the system that most Sri Lankan tea factories now follow.
